Make Me Over Lord...

My prayer to God...

Make Me Over

Written by Natalie Grant, Bernie Herms, Stephanie Lewis

I've been silent instead of speaking out
Gave my advice instead of giving love
I have been unfair, faithless and unkind
I have shut my eyes just so I would stay blind
It's not what I meant to do
'Cause I wanna honor You

Make me over, make me new
Make me a mirror, a reflection of You
Take me all apart
Take me to Your heart and pull me closer
Oh, Jesus, make me over

Take away the pride that whispers in the darkness
Take the stone out of the middle of my heart
Hidden underneath my insecurities
Is the servant that You've destined me to be
Day after precious day
I get in my own way

Make me over, make me new
Make me a mirror, a reflection of You
Take my all apart
Take me to Your heart and pull me closer
Sweet Savior, make me over

I am only made of Your imagining
I'm dust and clay on the wind
Wash me in the river of Your sacrifice
Until I'm changed, purified

Take me all apart
Take me to Your heart and pull me closer
My Jesus, make me over
Make me over

Make Me Over

THANK YOU!!

Prayer Request

I understand that life in Iraq is very difficult to bear right now. Our troops need our prayers for strength, endurance and safety.

"Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need.
Amen."

When you see this, please stop for a moment and say a prayer for our troops around the world.
Do not let it stop with you, please - of all the gifts you could give a US Soldier, Sailor, Airman, or Marine deployed in harm's way, prayer is the very best!!!

Thank you.

Please go to this website!! You can send a thank you e-mail to the troops. Please do this to let them know that we support them, miss them, are praying for them, and love them!! Let's see how many soldiers we can encourage!! Thanks!

Happy Memorial Day!

Happy Memorial Day everyone!! Thank you so much to all of our soliders who are fighting in the Middle East so that we can stay free. We have no idea what you're going through. Please stay safe and come home soon!! We are praying for you and your families!! THANK YOU!! And thank you to all the soldiers who gave their lives so that we can stay free! We will never forget your sacrifice! THANK YOU!!

it's finally spring!!

and it's really and truly spring!! (i hope!) today was an absolutely beautiful day!! the sky had no clouds and the blue of it was so pretty!! it was 60 degrees and windy. at 7pm it felt like 3pm (longer days...yeay!). it was such a wonderful day!! i love spring! it's such a great season!! it's so alive, so free, so beautiful!! we went for a walk and it was a lot of fun!! we went to a florist down the street from us to get flowers for my mom. naomi and i put our $$ together to buy 6 red roses for her (i love roses! they're so pretty!) and reuben got a pink impatient. it was such a nice day for a walk!! yup, so hopefully this weather will last!! it's so nice!! woop for God!!

6th Game of the Spring Season

sooo....last saturday (a.k.a. yesterday) we played the same team we played against in our 4th game!! except this game we played at home. anddd...we won!!!! the score was the same as the last time we played them, 4-0. it took us a while to get the goals though. at the end of the first half, we had only gotten 1 goal. cami, katelyn, corrina and katy got the goals!! woop-woop!!!!!!! at the beginning of the game, the other team only had 9 players, so we had to play 9 on 9. by half time, they had gotten a couple more players, so we played 11 on 11 for the second half. we played kinda sloppily, but not too badly. it was really cool that corrina and katy got goals, because they don't usually got goals!! WOOP!! we have two games this week, friday and saturday!! also, we played for ashlee, because she wasn't there!! we're still undefeated!! 5-0-1!!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!

I wanted to wish a very Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful mothers out there!! we basically wouldn't be here without all of you!! i love you mom!! :) here's something my grandma e-mailed me about mothers--

Mothers

This is for the mothers who have sat up all night with sick toddlers in their arms, wiping up barf laced with Oscar Mayer wieners and cherry Kool-Aid saying, "It's okay honey, Mommy's here."
Who have sat in rocking chairs for hours on end soothing crying babies who can't be comforted.

This is for all the mothers who show up at work with spit-up in their hair and milk stains on their blouses and diapers in their purse.
For all the mothers who run carpools and make cookies and sew Halloween costumes. And all the mothers who DON'T.

This is for the mothers who gave birth to babies they'll never see. And the mothers who took those babies and gave them homes.

This is for the mothers whose priceless art collections are hanging on their refrigerator doors.
And for all the mothers who froze their buns on metal bleachers at football or soccer games instead of watching from the warmth of their cars, so that when their kids asked, "Did you see me, Mom?" they could say, "Of course, I wouldn't have missed it for the world," and mean it.

This is for all the mothers who yell at their kids in the grocery store and swat them in despair when they stomp their feet and scream for ice cream before dinner. And for all the mothers who count to ten instead, but realize how child abuse happens.

This is for all the mothers who sat down with their children and explained all about making babies. And for all the (grand) mothers who wanted to, but just couldn't find the words.

This is for all the mothers who go hungry, so their children can eat. For all the mothers who read "Goodnight, Moon" twice a night for a year. And then read it again. "Just one more time."

This is for all the mothers who taught their children to tie their shoelaces before they started school. A nd for all the mothers who opted for Velcro instead.

This is for all the mothers who teach their sons to cook and their daughters to sink a jump shot.

This is for every mother whose head turns automatically when a little voice calls "Mom?" in a crowd, even though they know their own offspring are at home -- or even away at college.

This is for all the mothers who sent their kids to school with stomach aches assuring them they'd be just FINE once they got there, only to get calls from the school nurse an hour later asking them to please pick them up. Right away.

This is for mothers whose children have gone astray, who can't find the words to reach them.

This is for all the step-mothers who raised another woman's child or children, and gave their time, attention, and love... sometimes totally unappreciated!

For all the mothers who bite their lips until they bleed when their 14-year-olds dye their hair green.

For all the mothers of the victims of recent school shootings, and the mothers of those who did the shooting.

For the mothers of the survivors, and the mothers who sat in front of their TVs in horror, hugging their child who just came home from school, safely.

This is for all the mothers who taught their children to be peaceful, and now pray they come home safely from a war.

What makes a good Mother anyway? Is it patience? Compassion? Broad hips?
The ability to nurse a baby, cook dinner, and sew a button on a shirt, all at the same time? Or is it in her heart? Is it the ache you feel when you watch your son or daughter disappear down the street, walking to school alone for the very first time? The jolt that takes you from sleep to dread, from bed to crib at 2 A.M. to put your hand on the back of a sleeping baby? Th e panic, years later, that comes again at 2 A.M. when you just want to hear their key in the door and know they are safe again in your home? Or the need to flee from wherever you are and hug your child when you hear news of a fire, a car accident, a child dying?

The emotions of motherhood are universal and so our thoughts are for young mothers stumbling through diaper changes and sleep deprivation...
And mature mothers learning to let go.

For working mothers and stay-at-home mothers.

Single mothers and married mothers.

Mothers with money, mothers without.

This is for you all.

For all of us. In the end we can only do the best we can.

Tell them every day that we love them.

And pray.

"Home is what catches you when you fall - and we all fall."

cell phone vs. Bible

i got this in an e-mail from my grandmother. i thought it was pretty cool!

Cell Phone vs. Bible

I wonder what would happen if we treated our Bible like we treat our cell phones?

What if we carried it around in our purses or pockets?
What if we turned back to go get it if we forgot it?
What if we flipped through it several times a day?
What if we used it to receive messages from the text?
What if we treated it like we couldn't live without it?
What if we gave it to kids as gifts?
What if we used it as we traveled?
What if we used it in case of an emergency?
This is something to make you go ...hmm...where is my Bible?

Oh, and one more thing. Unlike our cell phone, we don't ever have to worry about our Bible being disconnected because Jesus already paid the bill!

And no dropped calls !

sister maggie built the ark...

just don't ask!! so, today is our last day with maggie. :( i think my mom was planning on trying to give her a bath today. (note the trying part!) i think maggie really likes my mom. she's always so excited to see her, and always follows her around!! this morning she just kinda hung out with my mom outside while mom was gardening. it was so cute!! so, i think my mom is maggie's favorite person in our family. the b's are coming back today, so if everyone could pray for safe travels, that would be awesome!! it's going to be so weird without maggie here...

magsta

magsta is now maggie's new nickname!! ashlee gave it to her, and she's trying to get her to answer to it, but she's not getting too far!! maggie's been really good other than that 'incident' the other day!! she's so much fun!! i think we're just going to have to keep her!! sorry sophie and mrs. b! unfortunately, we have to give her back tomorrow. :( maybe i'll post some pictures later, but i can't now!! ttyl!!

5th Game of the Spring Season

so, i finally posted about our game on last thursday, so, now i can post about saturday's game!! so, last saturday we played against the undefeated team. it was a pretty good game!! we tied 1-1! we play them the last game of the season, so hopefully we'll beat them next time!! it was a great game. we got the goal pretty early in the 1st half. then we played a pretty even rest of the game 'till i got a blood nose from taking a ball in the face instead of heading it. oopps... :/ so, i had to be pulled out, and i'm not sure how, but the other team got a goal when i was out. :( it's o.k. and all, but it would have been cool to win! so, after the goal, i went back in cause i stuffed a tissue up my nose so the blood wouldn't drip all over the place. (yea gross, i know) we did really well, though!! they got the goal really near the end of the game, so we held them off for most of the game!! i think someone said that they got the goal because the defence could have cleared the ball, but they didn't, and somehow the other team got it and it went in. very sad, i know, but a part of life!! so, that's what's been going on!! oh, and for the goal, i gave a long pass to cami, and she got a foot on it, and it went in!! GO CAMI!! so, anyways, we're still undefeated!! our record is 4-0-1!! and, we're at the top of our division!! WOOHOO!!

4th Game of the Spring Season

last thursday, we played our 4th game. now, before, i told everyone that this game would be the hardest because the team was also undefeated. that was wrong, the team we played saturday was un defeated. sorry!! :/ so, anyways, we played away, and i took us forever to get to the field!! the highway was totally traffic. before away games, we meet in a parking lot, and when we met, cami (that crazy girl!) had to go get a candy bar at the gas station. which took forever, too...so that made us have a kinda late start. so, anyways, we didn't get there until 5 minutes after the game was supposed to start, and even then, we only had 9 players (we need 11 for a full line). but, right before we started, two more people got there, and during the 1st half, 3 more people got there. so, it was all good! :) we won 4-0!! another shut out!! and, get this, i got a goal!! i got the last goal!! jojo got the first on, and emily got the two in between!! woohoo!! yea, so how i got my goal, as some of you might know, my position is usually (o.k., basically always) center defence. and, that game, dad (he's our coach) moved me up to *drum roll please* FORWARD!! so, that's how i got the goal!! i don't remember if i carried it up or someone passed it, but i got the ball in front of the net, faked the goalie out, and kinda kicked it in!! it wasn't a terribly hard kick, but it made it!! so, that's the story for that game!! we had a full car going there, but we only had two girls with us going back. and, just a random fact, sorta an 'inside' joke, jojo lives in ireland, and miranda lives in mexico!! ;)

oh maggie...

today when we went to our homeschoolers class (see previos post) we left maggie 'locked' up in our kitchen. we borrowed a gate from our neighbors (they have small dogs, too) to block one door and piled up some boxes to block the other door. well, somehow she got out of the kitchen and greeted us at the front door when we got home!! our first thought was 'oh no, how did she get out!!'. and we checked the whole house, and we found some evidence that she had been all over!! she had gone to the bathroom on our living room rug, knocked over the trash in the bathroom (that wasn't too bad) and gone to the bathroom on naomi and reuben's bedroom rug!! so, we weren't too please, but oh well, those kind of things happen!! i think i've decided that if i ever get a dog, i'm not going to get a small one. i'd want to get a golden retriever, a rottweiler, a german shepherd, or a lab. i tried to take maggie for a 'run' yesterday, be she only walks. we didn't get too far before i decided to turn around and bring her back home so i could go out on a 'real' run, not walk a couple feet and then stop to smell everything, and walk a couple more feet and smell something.... so, that's something i've learned from this whole experience!! but she's a nice dog, so that's good!! so...that's my maggie story for right now!!

tye-dye!!

tye dying is so much fun!!! we got to a homeschoolers class at a church near us, and i'm too old to go to it, so i help out in the 2's and 3's room!! it's so much fun!! the kids are so cute!! today we got to tye dye shirts! we had yellow, pink, purple and a really nice turquoise color!! all the shirts came out really awesome!! one boy did a purple and turquoise swirl shirt, and it came out so nice!! all the girls did the one where you can make dots on it. two of the girls did their shirts all purple and the other girl did hers all pink!! the other two boys who were there did the accordion style. on of them did purple, turquoise and yellow stripes on it, that one was so cool!! the stripes where so clear and the colors really bright!! the other boy did turquoise and yellow (which looked really, really cool together) stripes!!! that one came out really nice, too!! it was so much fun! i was going to take pictures, but my camera was in the car!! :( so, you're all just going to have to imagine them in your heads!! i wish i could have made one for me, but the shirts were too small!! ;) i should have brought a pillow case in or something....oh well!! it was a lot of fun anyways!! :)

day of prayer

"If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land."
2 Chronicles 7:14

today is the national day of prayer!! don't forget to pray!! my aunt sent me this sort of 'guide to praying' and i thought i'd share it with you all!! (please take the time to read through the whole thing!! it's very good!)

2007 Prayer for Our Nation

Written by Dr. Charles R. Swindoll

Almighty God, we pause to reflect on Your character as we seek wisdom for such a time as this.

In these unsafe days,
You remain all-powerful and able to protect;

In these uncertain times,
You remain all-knowing, leading us aright;

In the unprecedented events we're facing,
You remain absolutely sovereign.
Our times are in Your hands.

Therefore, our dependence on You, is total, not partial
. . . our need for Your forgiveness is constant

. . . our gratitude for Your grace is profound

. . . our love for You is deep.

We ask that You guard and guide our President
and all who serve the people of these United States.
May uncompromising integrity mark their lives.

We also ask that You unite us as truly "one nation,
under God." May genuine humility return to our ranks.

And may that blend of integrity and humility
heal our land.

In our Lord's name we pray, Amen

The following statement, sometimes attributed to an 18th century professor at the University of Edinburgh, has often been incorporated into speeches by political leaders and statesmen:

“ A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world’s greatest civilizations has been 200 years.
Great nations rise and fall. The people go from bondage to spiritual truth, to great courage, from courage to liberty, from liberty to abundance, from abundance to selfishness, from selfishness to complacency, from complacency to apathy, from apathy to dependence, from dependence back again to bondage. ”

This sentiment holds great significance for America in the 21st century. Two hundred and thirty years have passed since our forefathers crafted a Constitution guaranteeing us the freedoms and benefits of a democratic society, and yet we have drifted far from our roots. Now, we stand at a crossroads. Will we descend further into selfishness, complacency and apathy, or will we humble ourselves before God and ask Him to bring us back to the spiritual foundations upon which this great nation was built?
May 3, 2007 marks the 56th Annual National Day of Prayer. The Bible offers the assurance that God listens when His people humbly seek His face. Our Heavenly Father is waiting for His children to come together in prayer on behalf of our nation and its leaders. He wants us to search our hearts and repent, both individually and corporately, as we endeavor to point this country back in the right direction. It’s time for America to unite in prayer.

things to pray for ~

The Church
Heavenly Father, we ask Your blessing on Your Church. Create in us a renewed desire to love You wholeheartedly, and to serve others in Your Name. Grant us the grace and wisdom to make an impact on our nation and our world for Your glory. (Ephesians
4:3-6; 2 Thessalonians 1:4; Acts 16:15)
Specific requests:
• That the Church would boldly embrace and proclaim God’s truth
• That God’s people would be united
• That believers would love one another and love their enemies
• That the Church would be characterized by integrity and righteousness, through the empowering of the Holy Spirit
________________________________________

Government
Lord, we lift our elected leaders before You and ask that You would grant each one wisdom and discernment. We pray that believing leaders would be bolstered and strengthened in their roles, and that unbelieving leaders would, through the work of Your Spirit, place their faith in You. May our legislatures and courts honor You as they confront the myriad challenges facing our cities, states and nation. (Exodus 18:21; Proverbs 11:3; Romans 13:1-2;
I Timothy 2:1-2)
Specific requests:
Wise decisions that bring about God’s kingdom here on earth
President Bush, Vice President Cheney, Cabinet
Members
US Senate and US House of Representatives
US Supreme Court Justices, for righteous Judges and righteous judgments
State and Local Leaders: ______________________
________________________________________

Family
Holy Father, we acknowledge ways we have allowed a breakdown of the family. We confess allowing things in our home that do not honor You. May you redeem families across the nation. (Genesis 2:24; Ephesians 5:22-24, 6:1-3; Deuteronomy 11:18-19, 7:26; Ephesians 5:21; Mark 3:25)
We pray for:
The hearts of parents and children to be returned to each other
The sanctity of marriage
A return to family activities that unify rather than divide
Family devotions, prayer and church attendance to be re-established
________________________________________

Education
Father God, forgive us for allowing You and Your Word to be thrown out of schools, and for allowing Your truth to be replaced with lies. Please guide our teachers, our students and our schools across the nation. (Ephesians 4:1-17, Psalm 34:7, Matthew 19:14)
We pray for:
Protection in all schools across the nation against violence
For the youth of our nation to find their hope in Christ
School boards, parents and teachers to work together
Students and teachers across the land to turn to the Lord
________________________________

Military
Lord of Hosts, forgive us for giving glory that belongs to You to strategies and weapons and individuals instead. Help us to be grateful to the soldiers who lay down their lives for our freedom. (Psalm 20:7; 2 Kings 18:20; 2 Chronicles 32:6-7; Romans 16:4)
We pray for:
Wisdom before the nations
Strength and courage for those in the armed forces
The families of those serving in war
Our military to conduct themselves well even under duress
_______________________________

Media
Almighty, forgive us for allowing secular media to take over our homes, our time, our thoughts and our families. We repent of sending mixed messages to Hollywood by watching and purchasing things that are unwholesome or blatantly immoral. Help us to speak only what is helpful for building others so that it may benefit those who listen. (Ephesians 4:29;
Philippians 4:8; Matthew 12:36-37)
We pray for:
Salvation of industry executives and celebrities
Truth in news reporting
Media to be used to encourage life-giving principles in our society

I Wanna Live

this song is sorta like what i was talking about in the preveous post. it's a great song!! stellar kart rocks!!

I Wanna Live
Written by Adam Agee & Roger Alan Nichols

Sometimes all I try to do
Is maybe sleep til noon
And now I’m thinking
Less is more more
Will I ever get out,
Out the door
What’s the point anyway
Another meaningless day
Is there any reason
Why I shouldn’t waste
All my time
I need a change of scenery
Unlock the door and
Set me free

[chorus]
I wanna live like today
Could be my last day
To give all I have
Before it’s too late
Goodbye to all the
Fear and doubt ‘cause this
Love is what life is all about

Sometimes I lie awake at night
Playing back my whole life
If the way I see this world
Could change
All the differences would fade
I’m gonna play it out again
When I hear your voice
I’ll take your hand
I’ll try to change what I’ve become
And love like Jesus does

live like no tomorrow

one thing that i've really been thinking about is how we never know what's going to happen next, and nothing is guaranteed. i've been think about how everything i do, i should do as far as my ability reaches, because i never know if i'll have the chance to redo it or try again. so, my challenge to you all is to make the most of ever opportunity, don't not try something because you're afraid of doing it or afraid of what someone might think, and most of all, in everything you do, give God the glory!!
