3rd Game of the Spring Season

so, today, we played our 3rd game!! (oh, oh!! i finally posted on the day we played!!) and, *drum roll please!* we WON!!!! i think this season is going a lot better than last season!! :) we won 3-1!! it was almost a shut out. but that's ok!! katelyn, jamy, and becky got the goals!! woohoo!! so, how they got their goal....yea....well, i guess the ball sort of bounced off my foot and ashlee (who was keeper) picked it up....and the ref called handling on ashlee 'cause you're not really supposed to 'pass' it back to your keeper!! so, they go an indirect kick just inside the goalie box. so, we made a wall!! (check out picture [<] to see how we were set up!) and i was yelling at some of our players who were closest to the group of the other team to cover them, because if they (the other team) got the ball, they had a clear shot! so, i wasn't paying attention to the ball, and the girl kicked it, it hit off my leg, and went into the goal!! whopsie! but that's o.k., it was a pretty good game!! next sunday, we'll be 1/2 way through the season because we have a make-up game (because of all the rain) on thursday and another game on saturday!! it was fun, even though our home field is terrible, because it's basically all mud, and in the really warm weather, it's a desert, but i guess that's o.k.!! hopefully we do well on thursday and saturday!! the team we're playing thurday is undefeated, too, so it should be a good game!! we've only had 2 goals scored on us, and we've scored 11 goals on everyone else!! we're 3-0-0!! for the first time ever on this team!!

shasta

"'I do think,' said Shasta, 'that I must be the most unfortunate boy that ever lived in the whole world. Everything goes right for everyone except me. Those Narnian lords and ladies got safe away from Tashbaan; I was left behind. Aravis and Bree and Hwin are all as snug as anything with that old Hermit; of course, I was the one who was sent. King Lune and his people must have got safely into the castle and shut the gates before Rabadash arrived, but I got left out.' And being very tired and having nothing inside him, he felt so sorry for himself that the tears rolled down his cheeks." (from the book The Horse and His Boy by C. S. Lewis)

poor Shasta. i think we all feel like that at one time or another. but, we are never totally abandoned or left out, because we will always have Jesus with us no matter what!!

2nd Game of the Spring Season

soo...last satuday, we played our second game of this season!! we got to play at 9 o'clock at night, on turf, under lights!! it was awesome!! it was so much fun!! and, to add to the excitement, we won!!! 2-1!! JoJo and Jamy got the goals!! YEAY!! it was a lot of fun to play under the light on the turf!! the ref was kinda mean, but hey, you can't have everything!! soo, it's really awesome!! we have 8 more games to go....i love soccer!!

oh, and this game was away, so we met to caravan to the field, and we had 9 cars in our caravan (which is pretty long!)!! it was pretty cool!! we lost almost everyone at the first light, which is kinda funny, but we all made it to the field!!

oh, and another thing, hannah who played with us during the 2nd indoor session is playing on our outdoor team, too!! she's doing really well!

bethany dillon blend

i thought it came out nicely...

to watch and...*dum,dum,dum* not to watch

i'm thinking i might start reviewing movies! what do ya think?! well, here are two movies that i've seen. i'm gonna label them either "to watch" (a good movie) or "NOT to watch (a bad movie)
sooo, here are two movies i'll start with...
numero one-
The Princess Bride
sooo...i absolutely love this movie!! i'm not really sure why i like it though... i'll try and sum it up sort of! well, first of all, it's really, really, really funny!! before i'd seen it, my dad had kept telling my sisters and i that we had to see it, but we thought it was a "grown-up movie", mostly because of the title and cover art. but, we finally saw it, and it is most definitely not a "grown-up movie"!! it's not your average fairy tale!! it doesn't really have any life-changing scenes, but it's a great movie! the characters are very original, and fun to watch!! i would tell you about it, but it would ruin the story!! basically it's about this girl who finds her true love, and then is forced to marry the evil prince (that's sort of a very, very short summary, there's a lot more!). and there's a lot of adventure and excitement! it's very interesting!! soo, this movie is most definitely a "to watch"!! (oh, and the book is awesome, too, it's almost better than the movie, if that's possible!) and btw, it's most definitely not a chick flix!! it has blood and guts in it, and sword fighting and fights!! it's a pretty awesome movie!! you should go see it!! :)

numero two-
Chicken Little
o.k., well, i don't really have very much to say about this one... it's just not a very interesting movie! :/ the storyline is lame and boring, there's not really anything really good about it!! it's about a chicken who thinks the sky is falling, and everyone makes fun of him, and they make a movie making fun of him because they don't believe him. then, he joins the baseball team to make his dad proud of him after the "sky is falling incident". and he makes a home run in the championship game and wins the game, this makes his dad proud of him, and he's really happy. the "piece of sky" is really a part of an aliens ship, and they come back to get the piece and accidentally leave their son behind. at the end, the come back and invade chicken little's town because they think he kidnapped their son. in the end, they resolve the issue and everything's better. and, like most movies, chicken ends up kissing his best friend (:P now how gross is that?!). some weird things- supposedly they're in high school!!? the names are kind of unoriginal; goosy loosy, foxy loxy, turkey lurkey?? and in gym class, the teacher divides the kids into "popular" and "non-popular" and addresses the kids according to their status (like for a "non-popular" kid, he calls them "non-popular") a couple more strange things about the movie, definitely not a movie i'd ever recommend to anyone!! so, this movie get a "NOT to watch"!

comments are welcome!! please tell me whether you agree or not with my "reviews", or if i got something wrong!! *the reviews are just my opinion!!*

random poem

o.k., so, this is a totally random poem that the girls in my (well it's not mine, but oh well) car on the way home from deep freeze made up. it is one of the craziest poems i have ever heard. we were all hyper and on a sugar high from too much hot chocolate *cough*sophieerikaandmeghan*cough*, so that might be one of the many reasons. so, hopefully this entertains you for a while!!

Yo, Judas betrayed Jesus with a kiss
We're telling you because it was a diss
And if you don't like it
You can go rewrite it
And that's the end of my story

oh, and by the way, kiss and trash do rhyme.

2 timothy 4:2-4

"preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction. for the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. they will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths."

i think that time is right now...

1st Game of the Spring season!! (finally!)

we finally played our first game for the spring season last saturday! we were supposed to start two saturdays ago, but we got rained out! anyways, we finally played!! and...*drum roll please*...WE WON!!!!!!!!!!!!! We really and truly FINALLY won!! YEAY!!!!!! and, to add icing to the cake, it was a shut out!! the score was 6-0!! ashlee got a left-footed goal, jojo got 2 goals, katelyn, cami and emily all got goals too! it was SO AWESOME to finally win after losing for so long!! i feel kinda bad for the other team, though. we know what it feels like to lose 6-0. anyways, hopefully our season goes as well as our first game did!! GO TEAM!!

some graphics...

wow, it's been a while since i put some graphics, so here are some i made yesterday...i really like how the avalon one ^ came out!!this one ^ is kind of random, but oh well!!
what do y'all think??

1 corinthians 15:58

"therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. let nothing move you. always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain."

please, please, please, my dear brothers and sister, please let NOTHING move you!! there are so many things in this crazy world we live in that can pull us away from our stand for Christ and our faith, but we are called to stand firm!! always, in everything, give yourselves all to God, He knows just what you need, and He cares for you more than you can imagine!!

books...i love books...

well, i just thought i'd tell everyone about some totally rockin' books i've been reading!! they are all awesome, and i'd totally recommend them to everyone!!

O.K. 1st book. i just finished this one and i absolutely love it!! max lucado is an awesome writer!! this book definitely is worth the read!!

2nd book!! This one is for girls only!! It's an excellent book, and every girl should read it!! It's about modesty, and details on that!! it's an awesome book!!

3rd book!! This is excellent, too!! I'm not totally done with it yet, but almost there!! It's all about sharing your faith with others, and knowing how to do it!! It's very, very good!! Go read it!!

4th and final book (for now!)!! This is a really good book. It gives you the reasons for our faith, and ways to defend it, and info on Christianity!! Basically, the title describes it best, 'core truths you must know for an unshakable faith'!! definitely a must read!!

Well, those are the books I'm reading now!! They are all excellent, and you should read them!! (except if you are a boy, then you shouldn't read Secret Keeper, sorry!) You can get all of them at CBD.

i have a new cousin!!

i have a new cousin!! his name is James Robert, and he was born wednesday!! we got to go see him yesterday!! he is really cute!! he was born 2 weeks over due, and he was 10 lb! he is one big kid!! he is really cute, and i might post pictures later. thank God for babies!!

why are we looking for the living among the dead?

"But the men said to them, "Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen!" {Luke 24:5} why is our culture looking for Jesus' tomb?? it's not there!! crazy people...

Indoor Session 2 Tournament

well, i know this is a little late, but oh well!! sooo, we played in the tournament last saturday, and we lost our first game 2-0. i don't think it was too bad considering that we were in last place (and hadn't won a game), and we played against the first place team (who had only lost one game). so, all in all, i think it was a pretty good game!! they got the goals in the first half, so the second half was just kind of fighting for possession. everyone played really well. the games were really short, 12 minute halves, so there wasn't time for anything major, and not really a lot of time to really play. it was hannah and katelyn's last game playing with us. :( they both played really well, and i had a lot of fun playing with them!! on an outdoor note, we didn't start last saturday, we got snowed out. :( sooo, tomorrow is our first outdoor game!! yeay!!

"If we are wise, we will do what Jesus said: endure the cross and despise its shame for the joy that is set before us. To do this is to submit the whole pattern of our life to be destroyed and built again in the power of an endless life. And we shall find that it is more than poetry, more than sweet hymnody and elevated feeling. The cross will cut into our lives where it hurts worst, sparing neither us nor our carefully cultivated reputation. It will defeat us and bring our selfish life to an end."
-A. W. Tozer (1897-1963)

luke 9:23-26

"Then he said to them all: "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it. What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit his very self? If anyone is ashamed of me and my words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when he comes in his glory and in the glory of the Father and of the holy angels."

Good Friday Poem

I'll Be Back Again Someday
Written By Brianna B.

The sky was purple
And the sun was shining gold
And with that comes the story
That in my mind unfolds

From far off in the distance
I could hear the crowd shout
“Crucify him! Crucify him!”
Now what’s this all about?

I inched a little closer
To get a better look
My thoughts wandered
And with them I was took

But through the cries and shaking fists
I could make out a figure in the group
With shackles bound around him
And yet he kept his troupe

In that moment that I stood there
I couldn't see a thing
But as I approached
I could see a king

He was arched and bruised and broken
And draped around him was a rag
In his eyes I saw words unspoken
As the cross, on his back, he dragged
“This is the mighty Jesus?”
They cried, laughing and screaming
I could see the blood seeping from his body
Maybe I was dreaming

This was the man who had taught me so
Had shown me the world from one place
He explained to me the Heavens and the Earth
And every star in space

How could they all hate him?
How can they cause him hurt?
I could feel a surge of anger
And uncontrollably I burst

“Stop it!” I cried at the top of my lungs
Searching for someone who would listen
“Please!” I begged with a tiny voice
And in my the corners of my eyes, tears glistened

Nobody heard me over the shouts
For something new had come around
For one man came running
With a thorny crown

No, I thought, as they placed it on his head
It can’t be, I thought, the tears running from my eyes
“Don’t do it!” I screamed at them
But they all pushed me aside

And then there was a moment
Where time seemed to freeze
Where he turned and looked at me
And all my cares did flee

For his eyes spoke without words
They said thank you for trying, but this is destiny
It’ll be okay
Just keep believing in me

And with that he was off
Back on his trail to certain death
Why didn’t he fight back?
Why did he allow this mess?

He reached the top of the hill
With the guards on his track
He could never turn away
Or change his mind, turn back

I watched as they cut the binds
Why didn’t he run?
I saw the nails and hammer
They shimmered in the sun

I couldn’t watch
Who ever could?
But when I turned back
He was nailed to the wood

He was looking to the Heavens
I think I saw his tears
He became oblivious
To the crowds angry jeers

He was speaking to his Father
And I heard his plea
He was staring at the tinted sky
“Father, why have you forsaken me?!”

That was that
It was done
Over as quick
As it had begun

The crowd departed
And He was removed from the rafters
They took him to his tomb
But I stayed long after

Feeling numb I wandered up
To the spot where he had died
And as I sat there for a long time
I cried

The sky above had turned navy
And the clouds were dull and gray
But as I got up to leave I thought I heard someone say
“I’ll be back again someday.”

Isaiah 53

1 Who has believed our message
and to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed?

2 He grew up before Him like a tender shoot,
and like a root out of dry ground.
He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to Him,
nothing in His appearance that we should desire Him.

3 He was despised and rejected by men,
a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering.
Like one from whom men hide their faces
He was despised, and we esteemed Him not.

4 Surely He took up our infirmities
and carried our sorrows,
yet we considered Him stricken by God,
smitten by Him, and afflicted.

5 But He was pierced for our transgressions,
He was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him,
and by His wounds we are healed.

6 We all, like sheep, have gone astray,
each of us has turned to his own way;
and the LORD has laid on Him
the iniquity of us all.

7 He was oppressed and afflicted,
yet He did not open His mouth;
He was led like a lamb to the slaughter,
and as a sheep before her shearers is silent,
so He did not open His mouth.

8 By oppression and judgment He was taken away.
And who can speak of His descendants?
For He was cut off from the land of the living;
for the transgression of my people He was stricken.

9 He was assigned a grave with the wicked,
and with the rich in His death,
though He had done no violence,
nor was any deceit in His mouth.

10 Yet it was the LORD's will to crush Him and cause Him to suffer,
and though the LORD makes His life a guilt offering,
He will see His offspring and prolong His days,
and the will of the LORD will prosper in His hand.

11
After the suffering of His soul,
He will see the light of life and be satisfied;
by His knowledge my righteous servant will justify many,
and He will bear their iniquities.

12 Therefore I will give Him a portion among the great,
and He will divide the spoils with the strong,
because He poured out His life unto death,
and was numbered with the transgressors.
For He bore the sin of many,
and made intercession for the transgressors.

stand in the rain

this is an awesome song!! you have to listen to it to get the whole impact the music is awesome!
Superchick - Stand In The Rain
From the album Beauty From Pain 1.1

She never slows down
She doesn’t know why
But she knows that when she’s all alone
It feels like it’s all coming down

She won’t turn around
The shadows are long
And she fears if she cries that first tear
The tears will not stop raining down

Chorus:
So stand in the rain
Stand your ground
Stand up when it’s all crashing down
You stand through the pain
You won’t drown
And one day what’s lost can be found
You stand in the rain

She won’t make a sound
Alone in this fight with herself
And the fear’s whispering
If she stands, she’ll fall down

She wants to be found
The only way out is through everything
She’s running from
Wants to give up and lie down

(2x’s)
Chorus:

radio lady

o.k., really random story, but oh well. last night ashlee and i were listening to our rockin' stereo, and the lady was talking about the weather. she said something like this.
"some people have snow, some have sleet, and some have rain.....*pause*.....yes it is spring.......*pause*........and, yes it is new england!" then i said "HA!!!" (really loudly) and she said "i heard that!" ashlee and i started cracking up!! it was so funny!! the radio lady had powers!! lol!! so that's my funny story for today!

SOCCER!!

just in case everyone hasn't noticed yet, i LOVE soccer!! yesterday, we had our first real practice of the spring season. we had been having practices in a gym for the past 3 sundays, but yesterday we started the tuesday thursday practice deal. and, this saturday, we have our first outdoor game. back to 11 on 11, huge field and off-sides. in indoor, we play 7 on 7, the field is really small and there's no off-sides. and we play on turf indoors. turf is so much flatter than grass!! i'm going to miss indoors!! :( but it'll be fun to get outdoors again!! this season we have 10 games instead of the 8 we had last season, which is good, 'cause we get to play more games! lol! so, just wanted to let y'all know, you probably didn't want to know, but oh well!! let the new season begin!!

(oh, i forgot to say that we have a tournament for indoor this saturday as well as our 1st ourdoor game!)

aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh!!!

I THOUGHT IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE SPRING!!!!!! it's snowing right now... :P it's not supposed to be snowing, it's supposed to be a beautiful sunny day!! ashlee and i just went to deliver our newspapers. it was pretty cool to walk through the snow, but at the end, i got kind of cold. the snow is a couple months late, but oh well, i guess. and, get this, we have soccer practice tomorrow!! yeay! hopefully all the snow is gone by tomorrow night!

Indoor Session 2, Game #7

well, saturday we had our very last 'real' indoor soccer game. :( next saturday we have a tournament, and next saturday is also the start of the spring outdoor season!! soooo...we lost 6-2... katelyn and miranda got the goals!! yeay!! we got the first goal, and i thought we were going to win, but we didn't. too bad! we were tied 2-2 at half! then we kind of fell apart in the second half. we were playing against the 2nd place team, so i guess we didn't do too bad!! we are in 8th place out of 8 teams. so, that means that next saturday for the tournament, we're playing the 1st place team first. so, i hope we'll do pretty well, so if everyone could pray for us, that would be sweet!! thanks! go my team!!

Forgive Me

I love this song. Barlow Girl and Rebecca St. James sound so good together!! This performance was at the Dove Awards last year I think. They did a great job!!
