White Thanksgiving

For Thanksgiving (yesterday), it snowed for the 2nd time this year. My family and I went to my cousin Sean's high school football game. Somerville high school lost 24-0.
After Sean's football game, we went to my Nana's house for lunch. It was all really good, the turky, soup, potatos, veggies, and pies (yum, yum!).
I think that in all the turkey and dressing the REAL meaning of Thanksgiving gets lost. We should all take a minute to think about what we're thankful for. Even if you think you have nothing to be thankful for, I bet you could find at least one thing to be thankful for!!!
I'm thankful for...
family, friends, soccer, horses, food, clothes, the computer, TV, music...
If you are reading this post, could you leave a comment of at least one thing (or more!) that you're thankful for!!! Let's see how many people we can get to leave posts!!!
thanx!! ;D

30 Hour Famine

Last weekend, (November 18-19(Friday-Saturday)) my youth group and I did the 30 Hour Famine. We fasted for 30 hours!!!! It was very interesting! I thought it was kind of easy, (we could drink water), but some people might disagree with me. We all raised money for World Vision (World Vision helps people in third world counties who don't have any food). I raised $391.00!!!!
On Friday, our last meal was lunch, and that night we went to church as usual for Youth Group. After youth group, we just hung around, then we played sardines, it was really fun!!!! Then we had a praise and worship time. After that, we went to sleep (it was about 2:00 A.M. Saturday) the boys slept in the basement, and the girls slept in the auditorium, I slept on a pew!! They are really comfortable!!!! Anyways...when we woke up the next morning, we raked the whole church's yard, then we raked Ms. Havens's (one of the lady that goes to our church) yard (the boys went to her house while the girls stayed at the church to finish up with the leaves there. When the girls got to Ms. Havens's, all the boys had given up and were all in the Korean church's van. About two of the boys were still working and all of the female leaders that went to Ms. Havens's were still working.) After all the leaves were done, all of the girls and one boy went to Boston. All the other boys stayed at the church and rotted their brains out playing video games while we were in Boston. We went to Elias's work and then took the T into Boston. When we first got into Boston, everyone had to go to the bathroom, so Elias made us walk through all of Faneuil Hall to get to the bathrooms!!!!!!! There was a really long line for the girl's bathroom, so, Elias was taking pictures of us in line and Kevin was making a movie!!!! After that, we just walked around. We saw some break-dancers, they were really cool!!!!!!! We also went to the Holocaust Memorial, it's really sad! We stayed in Boston for about 4 hours. We left at about 6:00 P.M. It's alot of fun to go on the T!!! In Faneuil Hall some people got chocolate and goodies for after the famine!!! The boys who didn't go to Boston were really sad!!! For dinner, we had french toast, pancakes, eggs, and sausage. You couldn't get any food for yourself, someone else had to serve you because the famine wasn't about us, it was about serving others. It was interesting.
All in all, it was really fun. Kevin made a movie of most of it. If I can, I might put it on this blog.

Matthew 25:35-45 (New International Version)

35For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.'
37"Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?'
40"The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'
41"Then he will say to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.'
44"They also will answer, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?'
45"He will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.'

Verses

Here are some verses I found in the Bible-

Proverbs 30:7-9
"7Two things I ask of you, O Lord; do not refuse me before I die:
8Keep falsehood and lies far from me; give me neither poverty nor riches,
but give me only my daily bread.
9Otherwise, I may have too much and disown you and say, 'Who is the LORD?'
Or I may become poor and steal, and so dishonor the name of my God."

Proverbs 30:24-31
"24Four things on earth are small, yet they are extremely wise;
25Ants are creatures of little strength, yet they store up their food in the summer;
26coneys are creatures of little power, yet they make their home in the crags;
27locusts have no king, yet they advance together in ranks;
28a lizard can be caught with the hand, yet it is found in kings' palaces.
29There are three things that are stately in their stride, four that move with stately bearing:
30 a lion, mighty among beasts, who retreats before nothing;
31a strutting rooster, a he-goat, and a king with his army around him."

Matthew 16:26
"26What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul?"

Proverbs 31:30
"30Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleating; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised."

Mark 10:27
"27Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God."

1 Peter 3:3
"3Your beauty should not comre from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewlery and fine clothes."

John 13:16-17
"16I tell you the truth, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messanger greater than the one who sent him.
17Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them."

Acts 18:9-10

9One night the Lord spoke to Paul in a vision: "Do not be afraid; keep on speaking, do not be silent. 10For I am with you, and no one is going to attack and harm you, because I have many people in this city."

Romans 8:38-39

38For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

1 Samuel 16:7b

The LORD does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart."

Psalms 34:7

7 The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them.

Psalms 102:25-27

25 In the beginning you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands.
26 They will perish, but you remain; they will all wear out like a garment. Like clothing you will change them and they will be discarded.
27 But you remain the same, and your years will never end.

Psalms 30:11-12

11 You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy,
12 that my heart may sing to you and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give you thanks forever.
